Editorial Standards

This page explains how CarnivoreRx articles are written and updated, and what you can and can't rely on them for.

Who writes what

Most of the site's original articles were written by Josh Koop, who started CarnivoreRx at the end of 2019. Those articles keep his name, and any first-person stories in them are his. Newer and updated pages are written by the CarnivoreRx Team in a neutral voice. When we substantially update one of Josh's articles, the byline shows both his name and the update date.

What we will and won't do

  • We link to the sources behind health and nutrition claims, preferring published research and major health institutions.
  • When evidence is limited, mixed, or indirect, we say so instead of presenting it as settled.
  • Sample meal plans, worked examples, and hypothetical shoppers are clearly labeled as examples.
  • Calculators show their assumptions, and prices are dated.
  • We never invent personal experience, product testing, results, testimonials, or expert credentials. Nothing on this site is described as medically reviewed unless the reviewer is named.

Health information

CarnivoreRx publishes general information, not medical advice for your situation. Diet changes affect people differently. If you have a medical condition, take medication, or are pregnant or breastfeeding, talk to a qualified professional before making major changes to how you eat.

Affiliate links

Some pages link to products on Amazon, and CarnivoreRx may earn a commission if you buy through them, at no extra cost to you. Commissions don't decide what we write, and we don't claim to have tested products we haven't. Details are in the affiliate disclaimer.
